Jen Hodge

Jen HodgeJen Hodge is a versatile and in-demand bass player, who is also known to lead bands, sing, and play tuba. She originally hails from Vancouver Island, Canada, and relocated to New York City in 2019, where she currently enjoys living and working among some of the most luminous musicians in her field.

Jen’s playing is characterized by hard swinging grooves, an expressive and energetic playing style, and an evident, infectious love for making music. Her steadfast bass playing, and consummate professionalism have taken her to stages all over Canada, the USA, China, Spain, France, the UK, Sweden, and the Caribbean, with such artists as Bria Skonberg, Jon-Erik Kellso & The EarRegulars, The Hot Sardines, Danny Jonokuchi, Eyal Vilner, Cynthia Sayer, and The Hong Kong Ballet. In New York, Jen can frequently be found in the house band for the long-running Mona’s Tuesday Night Hot Jazz jam session led by multi-instrumentalist Dennis Lichtman, between performances at such legendary institutions as Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Birdland, the Louis Armstrong House Museum, the 92nd Street Y, and BAM. Jen has released three full-length albums as a bandleader with her Jen Hodge All Stars project and appears on dozens of recordings as a side person.
