Galen Hunsucker has been studying and playing guitar every day since he was ten years old. He was the youngest graduate of Southwestern Guitar Conservatory, and has studied with Herb Ellis, Jackie King and Barney Kessell, as well as attending masterclasses hosted by Steve Morse, Sharon Islin, Joe Pass and others.
This year we will open our festival on Thursday night with Galen & Friends playing a set of Gypsy Jazz, a style of jazz made popular in the 1930’s by French guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.
Galen lives in Wilmington, is a very busy guitar performer and teacher to students of all ages, and is ½ of the popular Lisa & Galen Duo.
